1/23/2024 0 Comments Dji phantom 3 camera guard installI have never seen it present as a problem. This is normally not a problem unless you have a mix and matched Phantom. Upon occasion, DJI has done forced updates. But, as an operator, we need to be sure that we are doing the right firmware updates. Now, DJI has no real issue with an operator voiding their warranty and swapping out cameras, etc. DJI has each operator recorded as having a specific Phantom. The camera has one set of firmware and the flight controller has another set of firmware. The current issue is to swap cameras, which is possible, but you need to make sure you are updating to the proper firmware when it comes out. So now, I pay attention to possible mistakes and look in advance for possible problems. I did not realize that there were differences way back then (as in years ago). I just kept hammering it in until it finally took. It took me almost a month to straighten it out, but, I did. What a babooze I was! I could kick myself around the block for that. No tell anybody, eh! My first firmware upgrade was a P3A firmware on a P3P. Just install the camera and change the firmware from the Advanced to the Professional. That is it, no need to contact DJI or to re register. When you registered your Phantom through the GO app or signed in to DJI the first time through the app, it sent your activation date and serial number to DJI.Īs for the camera swap, When you put a Pro camera on an Advanced, the only other thing that is required is to install the Pro firmware onto the Advanced with the pro camera. I'm just asking to better understand, not trying to make anything wrong out of your statement. I often wondered in the first year that if I had a warranty issue (which I did not) how would DJI even know what aircraft I had. I have upgraded every time one has been released, for the last 1 1/2 years and have never been asked to confirm my aircraft. Yes, I created an account on the DJI website with just an email, but what does DJI have to do regarding firmware upgrades. Authentic mind you, but since day one I have never given DJI a serial number or anything. I personally have an Advanced that was purchased from a hobby store. I am curious about your statement regarding DJI and firmware upgrades. I think Hasan needs to know that the swap is very possible, but he also needs to understand that more work needs to be done with DJI. Firmware updates are sometimes specific, although I think at this late stage the P3P and P3A are pretty much identical. Mahalo for filling the blanks! But swapping out the two cameras is different from managing the accounts of the cameras.
